Right Panel (Data & Tools) Deep Dive

The right panel of the GriidAi workspace is your multi-functional command center. It acts as both your spatial data manager and your gateway to platform support and learning resources.

The File Catalog (Data Library)

Before any spatial analysis can begin, your data needs to be uploaded and organized. The File Catalog is your personal, secure hard drive within the GriidAi platform.

• Storage & Organization:
• Uploading Data: You can upload new datasets by clicking the primary upload buttons within this panel. The catalog supports a wide variety of spatial formats, including Shapefiles, GeoTIFFs, and CSVs.
• Hierarchical Folders: Just like on your computer, you can create folders and subfolders. Use the context menus to create new folders, rename them, and drag-and-drop your uploaded files into them to keep your projects neatly separated.
• Adding Data to the Map:
• Context Menus: Alternatively, you can click the small menu icon next to any file and select the option to add it to your active session.

Layers Management

Once a dataset is moved from your File Catalog onto the active map, it becomes an 'Active Layer.' The Layers section allows you to control exactly how these datasets are displayed and interacted with.

• Visibility & Stacking:
• Toggling Visibility: Next to each active layer, you will see a visibility toggle (often resembling an eye icon). Clicking this will instantly hide or show the layer on the map.
• Changing the Stacking Order: If a large polygon layer is hiding a smaller point layer underneath it, click and hold the point layer in the list, and drag it above the polygon layer. The map will immediately update so the points render on top.
• Exports:
• Downloading Data: Locate the export or download options within the Layers panel. You can select specific processed layers and export them back to your local computer in highly compatible formats like GeoJSON, Shapefile, KML, or GeoTIFF.

Scroll below the core data management features, and you will find a suite of built-in resources designed to help you master the platform:

• Share Feedback: If you have an idea for a new AI capability, or if you notice a tool behaving unexpectedly, open the Feedback section to send a direct message to the development team.
• Referrals: Use the Referrals section to generate an invite link for colleagues or other spatial engineers.
• Video Library: Click into the Video Library to access a curated list of tutorials, platform walkthroughs, and best-practice guides that load directly in the app.
• Support Request: Open the Support Request tool to submit a formal ticket with details about any workflow issues or errors.
