Platform Interface Overview

Welcome to your GriidAi Workspace! Once you have successfully logged in, you will be presented with the main platform interface. To help you get oriented quickly, this guide breaks down the workspace into its primary functional areas: the Left Panel (Sessions), the Main View (Map & Chat), and the expansive Right Panel (Data & Support Tools).

Left Panel: Chat Sessions

The panel on the far left side of your screen is dedicated to organizing your work history and active projects.

• Session History: Every time you start a new analysis or inquiry, a 'session' is created. This panel lists all of your past and present chat sessions.
• Navigating Sessions: You can click on any previous session in this list to instantly reload that specific map state, chat history, and context.
• New Session: Look for the New Chat or New Session button at the top of this panel to start a fresh workspace from scratch.

Central Area: Main Map View & Chat Tab

The center of your screen is the core of the GriidAi experience, divided into the visual map and your AI interactions.

• The Main Map View: The largest section of your screen is the interactive map. This is where your spatial data comes to life. All uploaded vector files, raster data, and AI-generated geographic insights will render directly onto this interactive globe/map.
• Navigation: You can click and drag to pan around the world, and use your mouse wheel or the zoom controls to inspect data up close.
• The Chat Tab: Overlaying or situated adjacent to the map is the primary Chat Tab. This is your direct line to the GriidAi assistant.
• AI Interaction: You can use the text box at the bottom of the chat tab to ask questions about your data, request spatial operations (like buffering or intersecting layers), or prompt the AI to generate new insights.
• History & Results: The chat area maintains a running log of your conversation, including any charts, text summaries, or direct feedback the AI provides in response to your queries.

Right Panel: Data Catalog & Application Tools

The panel on the right side of the screen is a multi-functional hub. It serves as both your spatial data manager and the gateway to platform support and resources.

• The File Catalog (Data Library): This section houses all of your raw and processed datasets before they are added to the map. All shapefiles, GeoTIFFs, and CSVs you upload are securely stored here. You can create hierarchical folders to keep your datasets neatly organized.
• Adding Data to the Map: To analyze a file, simply drag and drop it from this catalog directly onto the Main Map View, or use the associated context menus.
• Layers Management: Once data is moved from your catalog to the active map, it is managed in the Layers section. Every visible dataset is an active layer. You can use this section to toggle visibility on and off and drag layers up or down to change their visual stacking order on the map.
• Exports: This area also houses the tools needed to export your active layers back to your local computer in various formats (e.g., GeoJSON, Shapefile, GeoTIFF).
• Additional Support & Resource Tools: Below the core data management features, you will find several highly useful resources built directly into the right panel: Share Feedback, Referrals, Video Library, and Support Request tools.

• The Video Library is a comprehensive, built-in resource hub designed to accelerate your learning. Content categories include Onboarding, Data Management, Analysis Tools, Advanced Geospatial Analysis, Specialized Topics, and GriidAi Academy Modules.
